Laurent Bannock MSc CISSN*H CSCS
Performance Nutritionist & Exercise Physiologist
Laurent is the founder and director at Guru Performance, and is internationally renowned in his field of performance nutrition. He has over 20 years of experience in nutrition and strength & conditioning and has worked in the USA and UK with a wide range of clients including a number of celebrities, professional athletes (including GB heavyweight boxing champion, Danny Williams), premier league teams (including Bath Rugby for the 2013-2014 & 2014-2015 seasons, and other teams in the past to include London Irish; London Scottish & London Broncos rugby teams), and Olympians.
Laurent is on the advisory board of the International Society for Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and is the course director for the ISSN Diploma in Applied Sports & Exercise Nutrition post graduate program. Innumerable Sports and Health magazines and general publications have featured Laurent, who is also a regular columnist for Men’s Fitness Magazine. He also serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of the International Society for Sports Nutrition, and is an expert reviewer for the European Journal of Sports Sciences.
Laurent is a Certified Sports Nutritionist with honours (ISSN), a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and a Certified Anthropometrist (ISAK). He has a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, from California University of Pennsylvania, USA, a Master of Science in Nutrition from Huntington College of Health Sciences, Tennessee, USA and is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Health Sciences (Sports & Exercise Nutrition), University of Westminster, London.
Sarah Collier MNCH(Lic.)
Sarah is a highly qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. She uses a combination of counselling and hypnotherapy techniques to enable Clients to address the underlying blocks or causes that have led to their current physical and/or mental situation. Through this exploratory and understanding approach, Sarah is able to help Clients “unlock” their potential, to improve their self-confidence and to move forward with positivity; she works with Clients with a range of issues including weight control problems, loss of confidence, poor body image, dependencies and irrational fears. Her work, in combination with Laurent’s scientific approach to performance and nutrition, has led to outstanding results.
Sarah was a professional actress for many years and turned to hypnotherapy to help her with her confidence issues associated with this profession. Her own greatly improved quality of life achieved through hypnotherapy inspired her to help others. Sarah trained at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in CBT Hypnotherapy and is trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She has had a practice on Harley Street, London for some years.
Scott Robinson MSc CISSN
Scott has many years’ experience as a respected performance nutritionist and exercise physiology consultant and lecturer, and has worked with Guru Performance for some years. With his strong sporting background his Clients include a number of Premier League Football and Premier Division Rugby League clubs as well as Aston Villa Football Club Academy. In addition he has worked on the international circuit as an athlete/sports scientist for FIFA and as a representative for Premier League Health.
Having been awarded a full Doctoral Researcher Scholarship from the University of Birmingham, Scott is currently undertaking scientific research as part of the Exercise Metabolism Research Group; he is also a contributor to the University’s Public Health Nutrition module. Scott has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science and a Master of Science in Sports Physiology from the Research Institute of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University and is experienced in a range of associated laboratory techniques.
Rebecca Carmichael LSSM ISRM
Rebecca is the first point of contact for Clients at Guru Performance and enables the smooth running of our business. She is an experienced Client liaison and has spent many years working with celebrities in the television industry, and with athletes and individuals in the world of fashion, health and fitness. She has exceptional organisational skills and dedication to our Clients, nutrition and fitness, and manages our offices in South Moulton Street, London.
Rebecca has a thorough, experienced-based knowledge of our industry and a passion for a wide range of sports which lends her a first-hand understanding of associated sports and nutrition issues. She is a skilled Thai Boxer having worked her way to the highest levels in the competitive forum and trains in core strength and conditioning sports. In addition, Rebecca is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist.
